PROTECT: Platform for Research Online To Investigate Genetics and Cognition & Ageing

The PROTECT Study is an online research initiative designed to explore the ageing process of the brain and the factors contributing to cognitive decline and dementia. The study involves participants providing demographic and lifestyle information and completing annual online cognitive assessments to track changes over time. Additionally, participants contribute DNA samples using an at-home kit, allowing researchers to investigate genetic influences on cognitive ageing. The study's longitudinal design and integration of genetic data aim to enhance the understanding of how lifestyle, genetics, and other factors interact to affect cognitive health in older adults. This research could inform strategies for dementia prevention and cognitive health maintenance.
