The purpose of this study was to collect information on where day care facilities were provided, to give a factual account of their operation and to find out something about the students who used the facilities, and whether they attended classes solely because of playgroup provision. Variables Extent of creche and playgroup provision: costs, staffing, hours, number of children, problems. Number of students, types of classes. Student's reasons for attending and details of family and social activities.
