The purpose of this survey was to explore influences on the pressure for pay increases. Variables Areas covered include: (a) Characteristics of jobs (b) Assessments of adequacy and fairness of (i) pay; (ii) pay increase; (iii) household income (c) Runcimen style questioning on feelings of relative deprivation and comparative reference groups (d) Views about inflation.
