The aim of this study was to replicate the findings of the 1976 ORACLE (Observational Learning and Classroom Evaluation) Project and to detect whether the National Curriculum was having an effect on: teaching; pupils' learning strategies; pupils' performance and attitude; the continuity as pupils move to secondary school. The dataset contains: data from the Teacher Record, a teacher observation schedule to describe teacher behaviour; data from the Pupil Record, an observation schedule to describe pupil behaviour; pupil data on the Richmond Tests of Basic Skills (mathematics, language, reading) pupil attitudes to school. Standard measures: Richmond Test of Basic Skills (shortened version as used in the 1976 ORACLE study)
