Investigation of longer term employment experience of TOPS trainees with particular reference to the extent to which they used the skills learnt on their course. This study is a continuation of the regular one in six follow-up survey carried out by the MSC on those completing TOPS courses three months after completion. A data set covering this one in six survey is held as SN:2168. Variables Region; category of training; occupation at the time of the surveys (three months, fifteen to seventeen and forty to forty-one months after courses); use of skills learnt; personal characteristics (age, sex, qualifications, etc.); number of jobs held and size of firms joined; use of skills and reasons for not using them; further training; reasons for undertaking training and its usefulness.
