To compile an inventory of all woodlands in Nottinghamshire as recorded on 0.S. 25 inch <i>County Series</i> maps revised 1911/19, and on current 25 inch maps and aerial photographs at 1:10,000 for 1978/80. Variables Location, size, type, density woods/woodland; changes between dates, including land use to/from woodland; administrative and geological units involved; access and neighbouring land uses; occurrence on maps of c.1824 - c.1841, parish and wood names. All measurements were entered in acres with subsequent analysis in hectares. Please note: this study does not include information on named individuals and would therefore not be useful for personal family history research.
