Morecambe Study, 1971: Pilot Survey of Staying Visitors

The purpose of this study was to learn about the problems and pitfalls of tourist interviewing, and to gain familiarity with the methodology. Number of nights stay, day of arrival, expenditure, type of accommodation/board/transport. People respondent was spending holiday with, number of dependents respondent was paying for. Visits to other areas before or after Morecambe stay, holiday activities, places visited during stay - suggestions for improvement. Background Variables Age, sex, occupation of head of household.
