Database of Irish Historical Statistics : Miscellaneous (Famine Relief), 1846-1847

The purpose of the project was to provide machine-readable economic and social history statistics relating to the whole of Ireland for the period 1821-1971. Further information about the project is available on the QUB Centre for Data Digitisation and Analysis website. The main tables are: The number of artificers, labourers able, labourers infirm, women and boys employed on Board of Works schemes on 7 November 1847, grouped by baronies. The amount of food in tons, money in sterling and seed in pounds, which the Society of Friends (Quakers) used for famine relief in each county in 1846 and 1847. Please note: this study does not include information on named individuals and would therefore not be useful for personal family history research.
