Census 2011 Origin / Destination - England and Wales
Origin-destination data is also known as flow data and shows the flows of people from one place to another. Flow tables show basic flows between areas, univariate tables cross-tabulate flows with one other variable, and multivariate tables cross tabulate flows with more than one variable. There are four types of origin-destination data for the 2011 Census: - Special Migration Statistics – show the migration patterns (both internal and international) of individuals based on their location 1 year prior to Census Day (27 March 2011) - Special Workplace Statistics – show the commuting patterns of individuals - Special Residence Statistics – provide information on the location of second residences in relation to an individual’s usual residence or workplace - Special Student Statistics – show the migration patterns of individuals living at student addresses one year prior to the Census
