The aim of this project is to study the structure of careers within the Officer Corps in the period 1674 - 1934. Data are drawn from a history of the Coldstream Guards that includes 796 individuals. A second regiment, the Scots Guard Officers Corps was similarly examined. It comprised 1950 individual careers. Variables Year entered continuous service in Guard, year left continuous service in Guard, highest rank attained. Saw action, wounded in action, killed in action. Please note: this study does not include information on named individuals and would therefore not be useful for personal family history research.
